Senior Manager, Product Marketing

The Senior Manager, Product Marketing will own the effort to build a product marketing competency for Aviatrix, drive go-to-market activities, create high-impact marketing content, launch new product releases, and develop messaging for software defined cloud routing. The successful person will demonstrate themselves as a subject matter expert in cloud networking, routing and security. The ideal person for this position has experience in the cloud (networking and routing) space with a passion and deep experience in product marketing. The ability to grasp and translate technical features into clear and compelling user benefits is key for this role. You'll fit right in if you are passionate about working with an experienced team to solve customer problems, roll up your sleeves and define a new category within cloud networking. If you like a fast-paced environment, want to build out a critical discipline within the company, and really “make your mark” then this may be the right role for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop compelling, differentiated positioning and messaging and enable sales to use it effectively
  • Create engaging content including datasheets, whitepapers, solution briefs, case studies, sales presentations, videos, webinars, web content, blog posts, and more
  • Own sales enablement and sales readiness to help maximize sales efforts and revenue
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, corporate marketing, and sales to execute go-to-market strategies and campaigns to drive demand generation and adoption
  • Drive and lead product launch activity across multiple functions to meet launch goals.
  • Partner with marketing demand generation and growth marketing roles
  • Understand cloud computing trends in the areas of security and networking. Map these trends to customer needs, use cases, and product benefits for specific segments and audiences
  • Work with product management to prepare competitive analysis for sales
  • Support field and inside sales activities for training, enablement, and tools
  • Represent the company - evangelize SD Cloud Routing at industry events, conferences, & briefings
  • Work with strategic and technology partners on joint execution of programs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in product marketing, technical marketing, or product management with B2B marketing experience targeting mid and larger enterprise, preferably in the SaaS or IT infrastructure markets
  • Some experience with marketing to “Cloud Personas” in previous roles (job titles like Cloud Architect, Cloud Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure Manager/Architect).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to comfortably present and evangelize at all levels across the company
  • Proven track record in developing effective positioning, messaging, and content
  • Demonstrated ability to understand technical concepts and communicate them simply to a broad audience
  • Previous experience contributing to sales enablement, product launches, and marketing campaigns
  • A “doer” – produce at a rapid pace and keep up a steady pace with a sense of urgency

Preferred experience includes:

  • Previous experience at a startup -- ability to work in an entrepreneurial atmosphere with a high degree of initiative and a demonstrated sense of urgency
  • Strong technical background that includes familiarity with any of the following: networking, , security, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure)
  • Knowledge of enterprise and mid market IT trends, products, and technologies
  • Advanced degree in a technical field, marketing, or MBA
